Evan Borthwick opened Redwood Pizzeria in May 2005, a few miles up Highway 9 where the light comes down through the trees. In 2007 the kitchen went all in: the dough and the marinara have been 100% organic and vegan ever since, and the place has been a Certified Green Restaurant for years.

Inside it is knotty-pine walls, a wall-sized mural, local draft beer on rotation, and a Sasquatch keeping watch by the door. Twenty years on, it is still the kind of spot regulars call a neighborhood gem.
